Residential Heritage Painters in Sydney
Period homes, terraces and cottages carry a century of paint. We repaint them so the character stays and the finish lasts.

Terraces, villas, cottages and period homes
Sydney’s older homes range from Victorian terraces and Italianate villas to Federation houses and inter-war cottages. Each period has its own details: iron lace, timber fretwork, decorative render, leadlight and joinery. We paint the whole house or a single elevation, inside or out.
Colour that suits the house
A period home usually wears several tones at once: body, trim, doors and ironwork. We help you choose a scheme that suits the era and the street, and we match existing or original colours when that is what you want.
Living in the house while we work
If you are living in the house during the work, we plan the schedule and protect floors, gardens and furnishings around you.
Residential heritage painting: common questions
Do I need council approval to repaint a heritage property?
It depends on the property and the council. Heritage-listed items and buildings in heritage conservation areas often have rules about exterior colours and finishes, and repainting in the existing colours is treated differently from changing the scheme. Check with your council first. We can help you prepare the colour information they may ask for.
Can you match the colours my house was originally painted?
We can often trace earlier colours by exposing the layers beneath the current paint where they survive, and we match them to a suitable modern paint. Where nothing survives, we help you choose a scheme that suits the period.
